Global Safety Consulting Firm BST Is Partnering With the Asociacion Chilena de Seguridad (AChS) to help AChS Clients Transform Leadership and Culture, Reduce Injury Rates, and Improve Chilean Workers’ Health; AChS, Known for Its Key Role in the 2010 Rescue of 33 Miners at the San Jose Gold-Copper Mine North of Copiapo, Delivers Safety and Healthcare Services to Nearly Half of All Chile’s Employers.
OJAI, CA–(Marketwired – July 31, 2013) – Approximately 2.5 million Chilean employees will be working safer as a result of the new partnership between BST and Asociación Chilena de Seguridad (AChS). Worker Safety consulting firm BST is proud to partner with Chilean insurance provider AChS in improving workplace safety across Chile. As part of the five-year deal, AChS safety professionals will be trained on core safety approaches and solutions to implement across its 43,000 client sites.
In the last two years, AChS has invested significant resources and infrastructure to improve health and safety in its member organizations and work toward making Chile a leader in workplace safety. The partnership with BST adds expertise and methods that will help AChS continue the company’s transformation process. According to BST representatives, the new methodologies will help AChS focus on safety leadership best practices, which in turn will strengthen their clients’ safety cultures.
BST has partnered previously on worker safety improvement projects with the Singapore government and the South African mining industry, and has a standing relationship with the National Safety Council (NSC). According to BST leaders, the collaboration with AChS builds on this legacy by applying the consultancy’s methodologies to Chile’s mutual model of safety. “The fact that there a number of companies dedicated exclusively to working on workplace safety issues and generating awareness in the business world is very positive,” says BST CEO Colin Duncan. “We are proud to take this step with an organization like AChS that is so committed to worker wellbeing.”
News of the partnership, including an interview about workplace safety issues with Duncan, was reported in the 28 July edition of El Mercurio newspaper.
